Rani Durgavati Rescue Center

Rani Durgavati Rescue Center is set to be established in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, as announced by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. This upcoming facility will not only focus on wildlife conservation and treatment but will also be a tribute to the legendary queen of the Gondwana dynasty, Rani Durgavati.

Modern Zoo and Rescue Centers Planned for Jabalpur and Ujjain

As part of a larger vision to promote wildlife conservation and eco-tourism in Madhya Pradesh, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav declared that state-of-the-art zoos and rescue centers will be developed in both Jabalpur and Ujjain. The proposed center in Jabalpur will be modeled after the famous Vantara Zoo in Jamnagar, operated by Reliance, and will be known as the Rani Durgavati Rescue Center.

Located in the Thakurtal area of Jabalpur, the center will resemble Bhopal’s Van Vihar but with upgraded infrastructure and greater focus on wildlife treatment and rehabilitation. The Chief Minister, who personally visited Vantara, praised its advanced operations and suggested adopting similar models in the state.

Funding Through Central Government and CSR Initiatives

To implement these ambitious projects, the CM directed officials to seek assistance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and also explore funding through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). He emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships to ensure timely and effective execution.

A Boost for Wildlife Conservation and Environmental Awareness

During a review meeting with forest department officials, CM Yadav highlighted the crucial role that such centers will play in protecting, treating, and rehabilitating wild animals. Moreover, these centers will become hubs for environmental education and public awareness, encouraging more citizens, especially youth and tourists, to take an interest in conservation.

The Rani Durgavati Rescue Center will not just serve as a safe refuge for rescued animals, but also emerge as a prominent tourism destination. It aims to inform visitors about India’s rich wildlife and involve them in preservation efforts.
