Vantara India: Intimacy with animals

During his visit, PM Modi got close to various animals. He spent time with cubs of Asiatic lion, white lion, clouded leopard, caracal and other species and also fed them. Many of these animals were rescued from critical conditions and brought to the center.
Conservation of rare species

The Vantara centre also conserves endangered species. Special breeding programmes are being run for rare species like the caracal. These animals are later released into the natural environment to maintain biodiversity.
Rehabilitation for injured animals
The Prime Minister inspected a leopard that was brought to the centre for life-saving surgery after a road accident. All animals here are provided with an environment similar to their natural habitat.

Vantara protects Asiatic lions, snow leopards, one-horned rhinoceros, golden tigers and many other species. These animals have been rescued from abuse, circuses or illegal trade.
Unique experiences
Prime Minister Modi met chimpanzees, orangutans, okapis, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, zebras, giraffes and elephants. He also saw a python, a two-headed snake and a two-headed tortoise. He also visited a special hydrotherapy pool built for elephants.
