Bhopal Wildlife Rescue Center is set to become the model for a new initiative by the Madhya Pradesh government to establish dedicated wildlife rescue centers in every division of the state. A Statewide Plan for Wildlife Protection and Rehabilitation

The Madhya Pradesh government is actively planning to set up wildlife rescue centers at the divisional level to protect and treat endangered animals. These facilities will focus on emergency care, medical treatment, and rehabilitation of injured or rescued animals.

The inspiration for this initiative came after Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the renowned Vantara Wildlife Center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, recently. Deeply impressed by the facility’s operations and impact, the Chief Minister directed officials to implement a similar model in Madhya Pradesh.

Vantara Jamnagar: A Benchmark for Wildlife Care

Vantara, developed by the Ambani Group in Jamnagar, has become one of the finest wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centers in the country. After visiting the center, Dr. Mohan Yadav described it as an ideal example of how rescued and endangered wildlife can be protected and cared for through scientific methods and a compassionate approach.

He emphasized that the upcoming divisional rescue centers in Madhya Pradesh will follow the same model to ensure high standards of wildlife conservation and welfare.

A Safer Future for Endangered Species in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is home to a wide variety of endangered species such as tigers, leopards, vultures, king cobras, and cheetahs. With only one active wildlife rescue facility currently located at the Bhopal Wildlife Rescue Center in Van Vihar, the new plan aims to expand the reach of rescue operations and care across the entire state.

These upcoming facilities will help bridge the gap in wildlife medical care, ensure faster response to animal emergencies, and create a safer environment for species on the brink of extinction.

Dr. Yadav reaffirmed that the state government is committed to making bold decisions in strengthening wildlife protection and rescue infrastructure. He praised Vantara’s efficient management and underlined its value as a guiding model for Madhya Pradesh’s upcoming projects.

The proposed centers will include advanced veterinary care, specialized rescue operations, scientific rehabilitation practices, and trained staff — all focused on the long-term survival and well-being of rescued animals.
