Where is Madhav National Park located?

Madhav National Park is located in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh state of India. This park is very rich in historical and natural terms, and is named after King Madhav Rao Scindia of the Scindia dynasty.

With Madhav National Park getting the status of Tiger Reserve, special schemes will be implemented here for the conservation of tigers. This will:

Area and features of the park

Area: About 354 square kilometers

Major vegetation: Dry deciduous forest

Major wildlife: Tiger, leopard, chital, nilgai, wild boar and many types of birds

Famous place: Sakhya Sagar Lake, which is an ideal place for birds.

In April 2024, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) officially declared Madhav National Park as a Tiger Reserve. This decision has increased the total number of Tiger Reserves in Madhya Pradesh to 7, making this state proud of being called the Tiger Capital of India.
